Royal Parks key workers demand equality and respect

Running Time: 5:43

On bank holiday Monday, cleaners and attendants working in the Royal Parks of London completed a two week strike with a rally and march through Hyde Park and Kensington Park.

The workers – outsourced to Just Ask Estate services – have far worse conditions that workers directly employed by Royal Parks. They have less holiday, are only on three day week contracts despite working five days a week – and, disgracefully for workers who are playing such a key role during the pandemic, they don’t even get any sick pay.

If Royal Parks don’t rectify this appalling situation more strikes will follow. The solution is clear: bring the workers back in house, on the same terms and conditions as everyone else. Next strike: 1-31 October; donate to the strike fund by scanning the code at the end of the video. And for updates on next steps go to pcs.org.uk.
