Kandi Mossett: Just Transition in North Dakota

Film length: 9:53

As always, going to the mobilisations around the COP climate talks is a real education. For example, yesterday we learnt that the concept of “just transition” did not just originate from the labour movement, but from indigenous communities forced by capitalism into ways of working that were alien to their culture – and how those communities can transition back. Here’s a powerful talk from Eaglewoman – Kandi Mossett from the Indigenous Environmental Network – on how her community in North Dakota has been impacted, and the positive solutions they are now implementing.
