National Education Union call on everyone to march to stop Tommy Robinson on October 26

Running time: 2 mins 19 secs

The National Education Union are mobilising all its members to take to the streets in London on October 26 to stop the fascist Tommy Robinson.

In July, he marched with 20,000 others, chanting Islamaphobic and racist chants. The following week saw far-right riots across the country.

Now he has called another demonstration on October 26 – and Stand Up To Racism has called a unity demonstration to show we will not let the far-right take over our streets.

The huge demonstrations in reaction to the violent pogroms in July showed that we are the many – and they are the few. And the situation in other European countries shows how important it is that this time, we mobilise even more.

The NEU are encouraging districts to book coaches to London from all over the country. Lambeth NEU have set a target for themselves of taking at least 200 educators to the demonstration. And as General Secretary Daniel Kebede points out, the NEU is the union that stands in the history of Blair Peach, killed by police while confronting the National Front.

Sat October 26, London: Stop Tommy Robinson. Stop the far right.
