Resist G7 protests kick off with furious school students climate strike

Running Time: 4:41

As the G7 leaders meet in Cornwall, a weekend of protests by the Resist G7 coalition was kicked off by an angry and defiant climate strike by school students, demanding real action on climate change from the richest countries in the world responsible for the majority of historical emissions.

Students demanded system change and an end to fossil fuel use, pointing out the hypocracy of Boris Johnson flying in a private jet to the summit while claiming to be serious about climate change – and detailing the numerous carbon heavy projects that are still being carried out.

The strike showed that this movement hasn’t gone away during the pandemic – and is more determined than ever to fight for a future for all.
