Only three weeks in to the campaign against deskilling of electricians at Hinkley Point C – and as sparks target Balfour Beatty’s head office, the construction giant has been forced into a public statement saying they’re prepared to work with the unions to resolve the issue.

However, they still refuse to withdraw the controversial Electrical Support Operative grade (ESO) that is the heart of this dispute. So from next week, the sparks’ campaign will intensify, hitting key building sites.
