Builder’s Crack – The Movie

For many years, the infamous “Builders Crack: The Movie” was assumed lost forever .. but recently the master was found.

Now a new generation of trade unionists can enjoy the story of rank and file organisation in the UK construction industry in the 90s – alongside a discussion with the film makers (construction activists themselves), Darren O’Grady and John McManus, plus key activists from the film Dave Smith, Mick Dooley and Steve Hedley, as well as Professor in Employment Relations Jane Holgate, current rank and file activist and bus driver Moe Mohsin Manir, and video activist Shaun Dey.

It is hoped this screening and Q&A will encourage debate amongst young activists about the labour movement’s history of rank and file union organising, unofficial strikes and occupations documented in this film.
