Paris COP21: Ban broken again as activists march in solidarity with refugees

Film length: 10:35

The state of emergency ban on demonstrations in Paris was proved to be unworkable again as French migrant rights groups, refugee organisations, and activists from the U.S. Grassroots Global Justice alliance of social movements marched to a detention centre in solidarity with the refugees locked up there, alongside La Via Campesina and the World March of Women amongst others. GGJ’s strike motto – “No War, No Warming, Build an Economy for the People and the Planet” – is combining anti-war, anti-austerity and environmental struggles into one movement. It’s something that all of us around the world need to do now as a priority.
