Teachers strike: Birmingham 02.10.13

Over 5,000 angry teachers march in Birmingham as the joint NUT/NASUWT strike shuts down schools across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Eastern regions of England. This isn’t just about pay and pensions; as teachers explain here, they are striking to stop Michael Gove destroying state education and selling it off for profit. If the next strike in the rest of England on October 17 is as strong as this one, Gove’s got serious problems.
