After a meeting with senior UNITE officials on March 24, the rank and file can reveal major steps forward in the fight for proper terms and conditions, a decent pay rise, and direct employment.
FES bosses at the Multiplex on Argyle Street have now agreed to allow rank and file reps on site to hold meetings with all workers, both directly employed and agency staff – and to hold talks on the concerns of the workers as well as the claim for a pay rise of at least 14% to cope with the cost of living crisis.
The rank and file will now be redoubling their efforts to get similar arrangements on as many sites as possible with support from UNITE’s organising department – and are calling on more people to come forward to stand as reps and also to get involved in the branch – monthly branch meetings are at UNITE offices, 145 West Regent Street, 10:30am on the last Saturday of every month (non-members always very welcome from Midday).
