Moulescoomb parents and staff block road at DfE

As staff at Moulescoomb Primary School in Brighton took their fifth day of strike action against forced academisation, a delegation of parents and workers took direct action outside the DfE and Parliament to demand that Gavin Williamson revoke the order to give the school to The Pioneer Academy. The action followed on from actions outside other TPA schools and offices.

The campaign to stop the academy has complete support from parents, the staff, the community and the local council, who are all proud of a great local school which provides fantastic support to a community which has the highest number of SEND children in the Brighton & Hove area. This support will be seriously under threat if the completely undemocratic academisation plans go ahead, as will many staff’s jobs.

The community has already seen off three academisation attempts – now is the time to give them all the support you can to see off the fourth. For starters, send messages of support to their Facebook page:Hands Off Moulescoomb Primary School – and on Twitter: @HandsOffMPS.
